Meet the next Galaxy! Samsung unveils Galaxy S5 at MWC 2014

We finally get to meet the next Galaxy. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S5 at Mobile World Congress 2014. The major evolution in the S5 is the "glam look" and health apps. The glam look is the leather type look on the back instead of actual leather. The back this time too is made of plastic but with a dimpled soft-touch finish for better grip. The next big thing is the health apps. An enhanced S Health 3.0 app contains personal fitness tracker to keep you fit. Additional tools included in the app are pedometer, diet and exercise records, and a new, built-in heart rate monitor. Furthermore, users can connect S5 with Galaxy Gear 2 for real-time fitness
coaching.

The front of the device is extremely similar to S4. Three keys are present on the front with the following functions (starting from the left): button to change between apps, Home button with fingerprint sensor and a back button. The back gives a glam look which is discussed above. This Galaxy S5 is now water and dust-proof just like the teaser revealed by O2 (German carrier). It would be available in four colors: Black, White, Blue and Copper Gold.

The technical specs of Galaxy S5 are a little different from what the rumors predicted. The flagship features a 5.1-inches Full HD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display, 2.5GHz Quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 16/32GB internal memory with card slot up to 128GB, 2,800mAh battery and runs Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) topped with Samsung's latest version of TouchWiz UI.

Galaxy S5 comprises of, so far, the fastest processor in a device. The advanced 16MP camera takes pictures in less than 0.3 seconds. Users can make Ultra HD (UHD) videos @ 30fps (frames per second). Additional features of camera includes HDR (Rich tone), Selective Focus, Virtual Tour Shot and much more.

Just like seen in the previous S series smartphones, Samsung always debut new features with the release of a new successor. And this time too, Samsung provided brand new features in their latest flagship. Additional features include Ultra Power Saving Mode, NFC, Download Booster, S Health App 3.0, Quick Connect, Private Mode and Kids Mode.

The phone will launch in April in US. It will be available from following major mobile phones carriers: AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, MetroPCS, and U.S. Cellular. As for its price, it is yet to be confirmed.
