Haier steps into the mobile phone market with Android powered smartphones

Haier P867

Haier has taken a step to increase its range of consumer electronics by introducing smartphones in the market. Haier as for a beginner introduced mid-ranged smartphones rather than taking a big leap directly to high-end expensive smartphones. The biggest competitors of Haier at the moment will be Qmobile, Voice and Dany (to some extent).

Currently, there are a total of 5 smartphones launched by Haier and if they gain some market then we'll surely be seeing new devices. But if they don't manage to do well, they could end up like Megagate. In case you didn't know what happened to Megagate then let me tell you. It turned down the mobile manufacturing due to much financial loss. But
unlike Megagate, Haier has a recognized name in the Electronics market. So, I guess they can grow by offering high quality smartphones in a reasonable price.

Here are the current available smartphones:
  • P867
  • T757
  • Y716
  • W919
  • W860
All of them are Quad-cores clocked at 1.2GHz except for Y716 which is a dual-core clocked at 1.3GHz. All of them are nearly equally thick about 9.8mm (there's a minor difference of 0.1 or 0.2 mm thickness between all five of them). P867 and W919 are equipped with 1GB of RAM while the remaining use 512MB RAM. 4GB Built-in memory is supported with 32GB expandable memory. And all of these operate on Android 4.2 (JellyBean).

The price of these smartphones ranges from PKR 15,000 to PKR 30,000.
