YotaPhone, a Russian company, launched their first device in 2009. The company isn't well-known world-wide as its most releases are inside Russia only. But now, the company has announced the first device which offers a dual touchscreen. YotaPhone already announced a device with dual screen last year but the back screen wasn't fully functional. It wasn't a touchscreen rather was just a display which highlighted the notification. But with the help of a Polish company, YotaPhone has finally achieved
what they wanted. They have made the device with both displays being touchscreens and fully functional.
The handset features a 5" 1080p front display. While the back display is a little smaller being 4.7" because of the rear camera and the LED flash and a bit curved on the outside. The device doesn't hesitate to show off its specs. It comes with a Quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB ROM, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and a 2,550mAh battery with Wireless Charging support. It will be running the "latest version" of Android (version not specified). We can assume it to be Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) if the device is launched before the release of the next Android update.
According to the company, if only the back screen is used, the phone will give a battery timing of more than 60 hours (nearly 3 days) which is quite impressive. But if the front display panel is also used, the battery timing will ultimately drop.
YotaPhone 2 will be available globally by the end of 2014. Its price tag hasn't been specified. But the CEO of the company said that at the time of launch it will hold 10-15% discount in all the markets.
