ZTE launches Open C and Open II at Mobile World Congress 2014

Mozilla announced two successors of ZTE Open at CES 2014. And now, ZTE has launched two new Firefox OS smartphones called the ZTE Open C and ZTE Open II. They are the first one to run the latest version of the Firefox OS. Last time, ZTE managed to sell 100,000 ZTE Open. And now, the company is planning to sell around 1 million of these deices by the end of this year. These phones will be priced low like their predecessor. Firefox OS smartphones would be affordable while offering ultimate web experience. On the launch of these phones, Kan Yulun, CEO of ZTE mobile devices and Vice president of the ZTE corporation

Vice president of Mozilla Corporation, Dr. Li Gong said:

“ZTE was one of Mozilla’s first partners to launch a Firefox OS phone, the ZTE Open, and we have worked closely together to continue advancing the new platform. The ZTE Open C and Open II are the latest examples of how Firefox OS has evolved to bring powerful open Web technologies to the smartphone.”

ZTE Open C features a 4-inch (800 x 480) display, 1.2GHz Dual-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset), 512 MB RAM, 3MP rear camera, 4GB internal memory, 1,400mAh battery and runs Firefox OS 1.2.

ZTE Open II, on the other hand, features a 3.5-inch (480 × 320, 1.2GHz Dual-core processor, 256MB RAM, 2MP camera, 2GB internal memory, 1,150mAh battery and runs Firefox OS 1.2.

The price of these smartphones haven't been announced. They will be released in Q2 of 2014 initially in Telefónica in Venezuel.
