BlackBerry unveils Z3, a 5" full touch device

At last, BlackBerry announces a new device. After great financial loss in 2013, BlackBerry almost reached the end. Many reports were claiming that BlackBerry would finally be closed down. But a new light of hope appeared for BlackBerry. The company received an investment from the institutional investors. The reason of BlackBerry's fall was high price with low specs. For example, BlackBerry Z30 was a mid-specs smartphone launched for $700. Under the new BlackBerry CEO, John Chen, Z3 would be the first
smartphone launched with their partnership with Foxconn. The new BlackBerry will operate on BlackBerry OS 10.2.1, which is currently the latest version of the OS. All the devices running BlackBerry 10 OS (any version) will be categorized under BlackBerry 10 line-up.Z3 will feature a 5" full touchscreen like the Z30.

The phone will contain new features and BlackBerry services. New services include BlackBerry Hub, BBM, BlackBerry Keyboard, Time Shift and Story Maker and BlackBerry 10 browser. First in the list is the BlackBerry Hub which allows user to access text messages, BBM messages, E-mails, social media updates and notification, all in one place. BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) is the most famous and important app. It allows user to send and receive messages and calls through the messenger (without any charges) just like Viber. BlackBerry Keyboard learns the words that a user uses and then offers them up for faster typing.

Time Shift and Story Maker is the most surprising app of the phone. Time Shift is an app for camera that takes picture when everyone in a group photo are smiling with their eyes wide open. And with Story Maker, users can make a video out of photos by adding music and visual effects.

BlackBerry Z3 will launch initially in Indonesia while global release still remains a question. According to BlackBerry, this handset will be affordable (although the price hasn't been announced).
