Mobile phone operators to run trial services of 3G & 4G before auctions

A few days back, we came to know about the auctions for 3G and 4G that will be held in April at Islamabad. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced that all the mobile operators within Pakistan will be given free trial access for the non-commercial use of 3G and 4G connectivity for better preparation.

It has been reported that after the announcement of the auctions, mobile operators requested PTA for the trial run of the services. And after that, Frequency Allocation Board (FAB) was asked to provide the necessary spectrum to the companies so that they may start offering
the 3G/4G services very soon.

After the approval of FAB request from the cabinet division, mobile operators will start providing the services. It is high time to mention here that the trial run is for non-commercial use, you won't be provided with the normal speed of the connectivity rather a "trailer" of it (If you could understand what I'm trying to tell you).

Both the 3G and 4G connectivity are expected to be provided by the operators after 2 weeks from the auctions. The auctions may take place in mid-April.
