Whatsapp is now acquired by Facebook

Whatsapp is the most widely used online texting service. It came into being 5 years ago, and since then focused on providing the best sms service to its users. Today Whatsapp has more than 450 million users today worldwide especially the young generation is using it to message without paying anything. As the Whatsapp developer states their mission:

Almost five years ago we started WhatsApp with a simple mission: building a cool product used globally by everybody. Nothing else mattered to us.
To acquire Whatsapp, Facebook has paid about $19 billion which is so far the biggest deal of social media. Before this deal, Facebook paid $1 billion and took over Instagram in 2012 which was the former largest deal. One of Whatsapp developers, Brian, said that this deal is made for expanding and making the app more flexible and there wouldn't be any change for the users. He said:
Doing this will give WhatsApp the flexibility to grow and expand. Here’s what will change for you, our users: nothing.
About 70% of Whatsapp users (320 million) use the app to send messages daily which is more than Facebook's daily use. Mark Zuckerburg, chief executive of facebook said that purchase of this app will help them "to connect the people of the world". As for the payment, 25% of the total amount will be paid in cash while the rest of 75% will be made in stock.
