Tizen OS is an open source standards-based smartphones OS developed by Samsung and Intel. Just like announced before, it would debut at the biggest mobile phone event, Mobile World Congress, that will be taking place in Barcelona from 24th to 27th February 2014. It was rumored that Samsung will unveil a new smartphone based on an Intel processor that will run Tizen OS making it the first official device. But looks like
Samsung has its own different plans. Rather than launching a new smartphone, they will release the OS on a smartphone based on an Intel processor. And the smartphone which seems to be their target is ZTE's Geek which happens to be a Quad-core smartphone with Intel's Tegra K4 chipset. Some of Geek specs are 1.8GHz Quad-core, 2GB RAM, 13MP camera and 2,300mAh battery. Let's see if it becomes the first Tizen OS smartphone or not?
